987FM DJ duo Joakim Gomez and Gerald Koh stepped up to the plate and shaved their hair on-air

“Are they? Or are they not?” That was the question floating around for most of the week, as 987FM’s The Bro Code, consisting of DJs Gerald Koh and Joakim Gomez, announced that they were shaving their heads on Friday, April Fools' Day.
Well, they weren’t joking, that’s for sure. The two jockeys had their hair shaved live on-air by Jayley Woo and Narelle Kheng from local band The Sam Willows yesterday, and we were there to capture every moment.
The duo had lost to a listener while spinning their ‘Wheel of Misfortune’, where the loser had to do whatever dare the wheel landed on. Past dares included car-washing, nose hair-pulling and leg-waxing.
“I think it’s awesome when you do this with a bro, with someone you come in to work with and see every day,” says Gerald.
After the big shave, we took the opportunity to ask all four of them: who’s next?

“I propose that one of the 8 dukes - or actually, all of them - let me shave their hair before the Star Awards. I think that’s going to be epic, but I doubt they have the balls lah.”
When asked if she would go bald for a role, the actress immediately replied, “I would. Without a doubt.”
So, what do you say? Anyone from the 8 dukes up for the challenge? You’ll be in safe hands, as Jayley has experience now, after shaving Gerald’s hair.

The singer was initially stumped for an answer, but eventually volunteered her brother and band mate Benjamin Kheng as her next shaving "victim".
“He always goes like, ‘Oh what [hair] colour should I do? It’s getting so irritating, I think I’m going to shave my head.’ Then when I go, ‘No, you’re not going to shave your head’, he’ll answer, ‘No I really think I’m going to shave my head.’ So yep, I think I’m going to shave his head.”

The Bro Code
Gerald chose Desmond Tan and fellow radio jockeys the Muttons (Justin Ang & Vernon Anthonisz) as his top choices for the next bald heads in showbiz, while Joakim went for Elvin Ng.
“I think he’ll [Elvin Ng] be up for this,” Gerald said, with Joakim chiming in, “Do it before Star Awards, Elvin!”
Will they join The Bro Code in shaving their heads? Only time will tell.
