Angela Chang slams “keyboard warriors”
The singer wrote a Weibo post criticising netizens for their baseless personal attacks
often rehashed in media reports, and the singer’s actions were also frequently scrutinised for telltale signs of their soured relationship.
Yesterday (May 23), the 36-year-old singer took to Weibo to word a long post, and spoke up against netizens who launched baseless personal attacks to others over the Internet.
“There was no Internet when I was younger, so people had to share their comments with each other face-to-face,” she wrote, “Now that everything is so convenient over the Internet, people write mean comments without getting their facts right, and cause harm to others due to their inconsiderate behaviour.”
“I can’t accept this lying down,” she continued, “it’s not okay to condone verbal abuse from keyboard warriors. Why do I have to deal with this?”
Fans of Angela appreciated her honest opinion, and left positive comments to show their support, claiming that they will “take action against haters” in the future.
