Angelababy refutes claims of being “hard to work with”

The actress was the latest victim of these statements after fellow actress Adi Kan mentioned that she had difficulty working with someone of a high status in the industry

Angelababy refutes claims of being “hard to work with”

Chinese actress Adi Kan has recently issued an apology regarding a statement made, that led netizens to speculate that fellow actress Angelababy was hard to work with.

In a previous episode of Chinese reality show The Inn, Adi shared that crying scenes intimidate her and are her “biggest obstacle” on set.

She later went on to talk about an unnamed female co-star, who she felt had used her status in the industry to get what she wanted. The incident took place during a scene where both of them had to cry and Adi, who managed to cry successfully before the other actress, had to redo the scene several times as said actress told the director to stop and to continuously re-film the scenes until she “cried more than me” and was satisfied with the re-takes.

Upon hearing her situation, hosts Chen Xiang and Wang Tao then comforted Adi by assuring her that “she does not affect you,” and that “the director will still use your best scenes.”

Netizens then began speculating if the person she was talking about was fellow actress Angelababy, who had previously worked with her in the 2015 Chinese television series, Love Yunge from the Desert.

However, Angelababy’s work studio has responded by posting the words “false” in big red letters across a picture of a website which claimed that the actress was the culprit. They also added the hash tag of ‘fake rumour.’

“Even though Angelababy and Adi worked in the same production during Love Yunge from the Desert, the two did not have any scenes together. I hope everyone does not believe nor spread these rumours. While we do allow our lives to be under public scrutiny, I hope that people will not misuse this to spread malicious statements,” they wrote.

Adi has since issued an apology on her Weibo yesterday regarding how the situation blew out of proportion, seemingly dismissing claims that she was specifically talking about Angelababy.

“I am so sorry that I spoke too much and let things get out of hand. Please do not wrongly accuse or point fingers at the innocent, I will be more careful with my words in the future,” Adi wrote.

Angelababy did not seem to take it personally and responded directly to her post, ensuring that Adi should not be the apologising, but rather, the gossip mongers instead.
