Anita Yuen dismisses reports of marital conflict

Hong Kong actress Anita Yuen just posted the perfect response to the tabloids reports that she was facing trouble in her marriage with her husband, Hong Kong singer-actor Julian Cheung.

On Sunday, reports that the couple had walked apart from each other at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport emerged. The tabloids shared that Anita had strode ahead of Julian, and was estimated to have been 2 metres ahead of him, after turning back to talk to him once.

As the couple are usually seen in public hand-in-hand, the reports then gave rise to rumours that the couple were facing trouble in their marriage. However, Anita had the perfect response ready.

She first shared that she does not usually respond to such rumours, as she found no need to clarify such false rumours that are out to blatantly worsen her public image. However, as the rumours had spread excessively, she stepped out to clarify it once and for all.

“In the future, I will pay more attention to my walking speed, so that I won’t be too far from my husband. Wishing everyone a happy and healthy day,”she wrote.

Her response led to an outpouring of support from her fans, who denounced the tabloids for their speculative reporting.

Anita and Julian tied the knot in 2001, and welcomed their only child, 12-year-old Morton Cheung in 2006.
