Archie Kao shows support to Zhou Xun via social media

Zhou Xun and Archie Kao have separated for the past two years, following a surprise wedding ceremony at a charity event in 2014.

The couple have not addressed reports that they are working through their divorce paperwork currently, although a recent Weibo update by Archie Kao one day after Zhou Xun’s 44th birthday (Oct 18) seems to suggest otherwise.

Although the American-born Chinese actor did not direct any birthday wishes to Zhou Xun, his update was a message promoting a charity event that Zhou Xun had participated in. He posted a picture of the event and wrote: “Thank you for making this world an even better place. Thank you, respect!”

While nothing has been said about the actress or her birthday, netizens felt that his message was a sign of his support towards her, raising doubts over media reports on their separation.

Meanwhile, netizens also took note of Chinese actor Chen Kun’s punctual birthday wishes to his BFF Zhou Xun. According to China media, the actor never fails to post a birthday message to Zhou Xun at midnight – and has done so for the past nine years.

He posted a picture of them and wrote: “Xiao Xun (his nickname for Zhou Xun), happy birthday!”
