Ariel Lin’s “relatable” fifth wedding anniversary celebrations praised by netizens

Taiwanese actress Ariel Lin gave a rare insight into her personal life on Christmas Eve, when she uploaded photos of her cozy wedding anniversary celebrations on her Weibo account.

“Happy 5th anniversary honey… I think you’re the least likely person to ever hurt me. Thank you for your understanding and love for me (throughout the years),” she wrote. The post was accompanied by a photo of a home-cooked meal, which consisted of four dishes.

Netizens were quick to remark that they were surprised that Ariel and her husband, businessman Charles Lin, led such simple lifestyles and would choose to eat at home on their anniversary rather than to splurge on a fancy dinner.

“This goes to show how down-to-earth this couple is. They’re so relatable, it feels like they are the warm-hearted neighbours that everyone hopes to have,” one netizen wrote, with another chiming in, “If they have children, I’m sure that they will grow up to be as kind as their parents. The world definitely needs more kindness!”

Another thing that netizens noticed was the tiny portion of rice that Ariel had set aside for herself, praising the 37-year-old for continuing to maintain her svelte figure despite going on break.

Ariel has been on break for the past year as she wants to focus on starting a family, and was previously reported to have rejected work offers that would have paid her enough to build several buildings.

She and Charles tied the knot in December 2014.
