Barbie Hsu gets inked again

Barbie Hsu surprised her fans with a post on her Weibo account earlier this week - one which showed a five-step process of herself getting a tattoo on her left shoulder. While fans might have been confused by the first four photos, which showed the tattoo artist’s progress on his work, the last photo showed a bare-faced Barbie smiling to the camera with her new ink on display.

Her photos were captioned with, “I’m a wife, I’m a mother, but I’m still me; I’m a free spirit!” The tattoo artist also gave an insight on the process, sharing, “Barbie’s tolerance for pain is sky-high! The colours turned out beautifully.”

According to reports, Barbie has always had an interest in tattoos as she feels that they are a “form of art, especially to women”.

This is also not the first time she’s getting inked, as she is believed to have at least two other tattoos on herself: one of a hexagon to signify perfection and discipline, and a dark blue rose which she personally designed, believed to signify purity and rebellion.

Barbie tied the knot with Wang Xiaofei in 2011 and gave birth to a daughter, Xiyue in 2014. Her son, Xilin, was born last year.
