Barbie Hsu starts Instagram account

This comes after an account thought to be hers left false comments on Faye Wong’s daughter’s picture

Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu has recently opened an Instagram account (@hsushiyuan) after a fake account thought to be hers commented on a selfie of fellow actors Faye Wong and Li Yapeng’s daughter, Li Yan, saying that she was “still beautiful” even though she did not “have a mother.”

Yapeng then lashed out and replied that even though the couple may have split four years ago, Faye was still very much Li Yan’s mother.

The account was previously thought to belong to Barbie, as it was under her name and even had pictures of her and good friend Song Hye Kyo.

Barbie has since spoken out and claimed that the account was not hers, asserting that she did not have an Instagram account. Her husband, Wang Xiaofei, also stepped out to clear her name and affirmed that she has never used Instagram.

In order to prevent such further misunderstandings, the actress has decided to start her own account once and for all two days ago.

“I have opened my personal Instagram under the username of ‘hsushiyuan’ and it will be run by me. I hope that this will help clear up future misunderstandings,” Barbie’s work studio said.

She made her first post yesterday with a picture of herself, along with the caption ‘Yes! I am Shi-yuan Hsu’ and has already gained 173k followers in a span of these few days.
