Bea Hayden’s father reveals honest thoughts on the actress getting married after dating for less than a year

Taiwanese actress Bea Hayden (also known as Haden Kuo) announced in March that she would be tying the knot with Hong Kong actor Jacky Heung. When they got engaged in March, Bea’s father remarked that all Jacky has to do before his daughter is to “buy a house big enough for all (of her) pets”.

The pair have only dated for eight months, which has led to netizens questioning the longevity of their relationship.

However, a recent episode of Taiwanese talk show Meeting Mr. Right proved that there was more than meets the eye, as her father shared his honest thoughts on her getting married.

During the programme, Bea was first asked why she decided to get married so soon. The 35-year-old shared, “Many people believe that you need to get to know each other and decide if you’re compatible after being with each other for a few years. The way I see it, you don’t have to follow this strictly, and there’s nothing wrong with getting to know each other better after marriage.”

On the show, Bea’s father quipped, “You’re already 35, so you shouldn’t drag things on for so long. I have three daughters, so one living a little further away from me won’t matter (…) Don’t live next door, or I’ll have to prepare another serving of food (for your husband)!”

However, in a later interview, he mused, “Bea won’t make rash decisions, and she’s not silly enough to pick just anyone to get married to. They’re both 35, and should be mature enough (to make this decision).”

He continued, “I don’t think there’ll be any major problems, right? Regardless, we’ll always have our doors open for her to come home.”

Netizens were deeply moved by his words, with many leaving encouraging comments for Bea’s father. One netizen, who claimed to be a father himself, explained, “Every father has problems expressing how he really feels in front of their children, but all they want is for their kids to be happy.”
