Last Saturday (June 15) Hong Kong singer-actress Karen Mok put on a show to remember at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Titled The Ultimate Karen Mok Show, the singer-actress’s concert tour was to commemorate the 25th anniversary of her debut, as well as bid goodbye to concert tours.
The tour was announced to be Karen’s final large-scale concert tour, as she will be turning her focus to musicals and theatre shows instead.
As a result, the stadium was packed with fans who wanted to soak in the atmosphere of the pop diva’s last concert in Singapore. Apart from local fans, however, it appears that Karen’s mother, as well as some of her celebrity friends were in attendance as well.
Before the concert began, Hong Kong actress Cecilia Cheung took to her Weibo to upload a picture of herself holding up a guest pass for Karen’s show here in Singapore. The photo, which appeared to have been taken backstage, was captioned, “I’m here”.
Karen later reposted Cecilia’s post, adding a comment thanking the actress for her support. “Thank you gorgeous, very happy to have met you last night in Singapore,” Karen wrote.
Both Karen and Cecilia are known as ‘Sing Girls’, having first gotten their big break on the silver screen after acting alongside Hong Kong actor Stephen Chow in his movies. As a result, the interaction between Cecilia and Karen brought up many memories for netizens, many of whom reminisced about the various movies that Cecilia and Karen had starred in over the years.
Other than Cecilia, Hong Kong actress Charlie Young also attended the Singapore stop of Karen’s concert tour.
“Watching Karen’s concert is a form of enjoyment. In my heart, she’s a great performer! I love watching her on stage: confident and at ease, sexy and yet, classy,” Charlie wrote in her Weibo post, attaching a number of pictures of the concert, as well as the photos she had taken with Karen backstage.
