On February 10, a Hong Kong bus travelling from Sha Tin race course towards Tai Po swerved out of control and flipped on its side, killing 19 people and leaving 66 others injured.

After the accident, Hong Kong celebrities took to social media to offer their condolences to those who lost their lives in the tragic accident, of which Cecilia Cheung shared that she will donate her blood to aid crash victims. The Hong Kong actress subsequently posted a video documenting her experience during the donation.

“You don’t feel anything when you donate blood. There’s no pain at all,” the 37-year-old shared, encouraging her fans to do the same to help those in need.

Cecilia revealed that she was initially told she could not donate her blood because she was too thin, but was glad when nurses did a check-up on her and found her to be healthy and suitable for doing so.

In light of the unfortunate tragedy, the Hong Kong government will fly the Hong Kong and national flags at half-mast at government headquarters today (Feb 13), as the city remains in mourning. The Chinese New Year fireworks set for this Saturday have also been called off out of respect for the victims of the crash.
