Cecilia Cheung gives her blessing to Nicholas Tse, Faye Wong

Hong Kong actress-singer Cecilia Cheung recently threw a birthday party for her eldest son, Lucas, despite nursing a fever. Cecilia’s ex-husband and father to the couple’s two sons, Lucas and Quintus, Hong Kong actor-singer Nicholas Tse, was a no-show at the party, as he is currently on holiday with his girlfriend, Chinese singer Faye Wong, earning the scorn of netizens.

In a live-stream with her fans before the party, Cecilia mentioned that in order to be able to spend time with her family, she made sure that all her work schedules will only start after August 8. As August 8 happened to be Faye’s birthday, the tabloids began to theorise that Cecilia had made sure to mention the date several times on purpose, showing her disdain for Faye.

However, on the very same day, Cecilia, who had caught wind of the rumours, immediately declared, “I don’t live because of them!” refuting the rumours.

Yesterday, the 37-year-old’s work studio issued a statement regarding the matter, writing, “[They’re] not love rivals, and [Cecilia] does not bear any grudges. [She] has given her blessing to them [Nicholas and Faye] from the very start.”

They also explained that August 8 will be the first day of school for Lucus and Quintus as well, which was why the actress-singer had mentioned the date. Cecilia’s work studio also threatened to take legal action against those who had spread the malicious rumours, and requested for the media to stop making mountains out of molehills.

Cecilia has raised Lucas and Quintus singlehandedly since her high-profile divorce with Hong Kong actor Nicholas Tse in 2011. The family of three also moved to Singapore for a period of time to allow Lucas and Quintus to grow up in a more conducive environment before moving back to Hong Kong last year.
