Cecilia Cheung talks about marriage and life

Hong Kong actress Cecilia Cheung left fans with many questions after she first discussed the topic of failed marriage on Weibo on Sept 6 and later posted a picture on Instagram the next day with the caption: “Being married for ten years would lead to a loss of common topics then communication, and subsequently, also a loss of feelings.”

The ambiguous phrase made by Cecilia left many speculating if she was talking about her divorce with fellow actor Nicholas Tse after a five-year marriage. She followed up with a short video of herself, with a lengthy post saying that she was “thinking about her life and what she wanted to become” every day.

The 37-year-old actress ended off the post by encouraging the public to “chase their dreams and to enjoy the journey towards it.”

Nicholas is now back together with ex-girlfriend Faye Wong, in a highly-publicised reunion three years after the divorce. When asked about her thoughts on this, Cecilia’s work studio spoke out on her behalf and claimed that she has always given them her blessings from the beginning and repeated once again that she had nothing to do with Nicholas anymore. They added that she did not bear any grudges towards Nicholas, nor were the two enemies.

Cecilia and Nicholas wed in 2006 but went through a high-profile divorce in 2011. The couple have two sons who are now being raised singlehandedly by Cecilia.
