Charlie Young welcomes twin boys

Congratulations are in order for Hong Kong actress Charlie Young, who revealed yesterday that she had given birth to two healthy baby boys.

The 42-year-old’s manager confirmed that she was five months pregnant at the start of the year, but declined to reveal further details. Since the announcement, Charlie has not posted any updates regarding her pregnancy.

Yesterday, the actress finally broke her silence, posting a picture of her twin boys in their cribs.

“My dear babies, thank you, for entering our lives, and letting us experience a different type of love. Daddy and mummy welcomed you both with a thankful heart. We promised that we will love the two of you with all our hearts, and hope that you guys can grow up safely and healthily, surrounded by love and care,” she captioned the post.

Charlie did not reveal any details regarding their births, nor their Chinese names. However, she did send a picture of their footprints, as well as their English names to the media later at night.

The younger twin is named Aloysius, while the older twin is named Ignatius, with Charlie and her husband each picking out one name from a list of Catholic saints.

The actress’s announcement also garnered lots of well-wishes from her fans and fellow celebrities. Charlie’s close friend, Hong Kong singer Gigi Leung wrote, “[I] believe [Charlie] will definitely be strong, and become a competent and good mother.”

Hong Kong singer-actor Aaron Kwok, who recently wed Chinese model Moka Fang, also sent in his congratulations, writing, “[I] wholeheartedly congratulate Charlie for giving birth to a pair of adorable twin boys. She’s a kind person, so she will definitely be a mother that’s full of love. Congrats, congrats!”

It is understood that the twins were actually born in mid-March, and that the older twin resembles his father, while the younger one resembles Charlie. Both were described as “very obedient” as well.

Charlie is also believed to have finished her confinement period, and has returned home with her babies. Her close friends, who received word that Charlie had given birth earlier, also helped to keep the birth a secret from the public. Malaysian actress Angelica Lee, who gave birth to a pair of twins last year, also helped out by sending the new mother some tips and tricks on caring for twins.

Charlie tied the knot with her Singaporean husband, Khoo Shao Tze in 2013 at a star-studded wedding bash held in Singapore.
