Charmaine Sheh has “no time to date”

A Hong Kong magazine ran an exclusive report yesterday, alleging that Hong Kong actress Charmaine Sheh has been dating a “fashionable and attractive man” for a year.

They added that the 42-year-old, in an attempt to keep her relationship under wraps, tries her best not to go out on dates with her beau. Whenever the couple heads out together, they’ll make sure to leave one after the other, instead of together, to avoid detection. According to the report, the actress only admitted that she was seeing someone to her close friends after they began probing her on the matter.

Earlier last month, Charmaine was also asked about her love life at a promotional event, with a reporter asking the actress if she has been single for a few years, following her break-up with fellow actor Kevin Cheng in 2009. At that time, Charmaine would only say that she’s always been “comfortable,” though she appeared to be in a good mood. Her subsequent answers were just as vague, leading to suspicions that she was in a relationship.

However, when contacted for further comment yesterday, Charmaine answered, “Thank you for your concern regarding my happiness. Everyone has always known that I’m very active within my social circle, and that I often meet up with both male and female friends. But, I’m really busy now, with no time to date. When I reveal my relationship, [the other party] must be the one I love the most.”

Although Charmaine has been spotted going out for meals with a number of male friends since her breakup in 2009, nothing concrete was revealed from these reports, as the actress has yet to publicly admit to any of her relationships.
