Chow Yun Fat is secretly a hopeless romantic

Hong Kong veteran actor Chow Yun Fat and his wife, Jasmine Tan, may have been married for 31 years, but they still remain as loving as newlyweds. Aside from making the effort to celebrate each other’s birthday every year, Jasmine further revealed that Yun Fat would often express his love for her through thoughtful gestures.

She shared that being the “good husband” that he is, Yun Fat would always personally go and buy crabs for her as he knows it is one of her favourite foods. He would also prepare birthday gifts for her way in advance every year, and hide them under her pillow or blanket to surprise her.

Jasmine shared that she had once found her bed filled with flowers under the blanket, and added that her husband’s romantic qualities was one of the reasons he won her over.

“Even before we started dating, he would not only call me every day, but would also always give me hand-made cards. However, I cannot really recall the details of the cards now as it was a long time ago” she said.

Jasmine and Yun Fat tied the knot in 1986 despite the latter previously expressing that he had no plans to get married.
