Chu Keliang’s condition worsens drastically
The Taiwanese entertainer’s family is thinking of transferring him to a hospice
Close to two months after reports first revealed that Taiwanese entertainer Chu Keliang had been hospitalised due to the worsening of his health, latest reports have stated that his condition has taken a turn for the worse, yet again.
The 70-year-old, who was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2014, was last reported to be ready to be discharged from the hospital at any time. At that time, he was able to stay lucid for up to ten hours, and made use of his handphone to type out messages to communicate with his loved ones.
However, the Taiwanese media reported yesterday that his condition has worsened drastically in the past month. It is said that the cancer cells spreading to his liver, causing his corneas and skin to turn yellow, as his liver is slowly losing its ability to clear his body of toxins.
Keliang is also unable to stay lucid for more than four hours now, and spends most of his day slipping in and out of sleep.
An insider also revealed that the next few days will be crucial for the entertainer, as his condition will either worsen or improve. His family is also reportedly deliberating on whether they should transfer him to a hospice.
When reached for comment, Keliang’s manger would only say that his condition is the same as before, and that it is neither improving nor worsening. Friends of his daughter, Taiwanese singer Jeannie Hsieh, also revealed that the entertainer is currently resting in hospital, and thanked the media for their concern.
Additionally, Jeannie, who returned from her hiatus in March, confirmed that her May 20 concert will go on as planned, despite her father’s condition.
