David Tao refutes rumours about wife’s miscarriage

Lyrics in the Taiwanese singer’s new song were said to have hinted at something precious being lost

David Tao refutes rumours about wife’s miscarriage

Taiwanese singer David Tao recently refuted rumours that his new song, ‘Mars Baby’, is about a previous miscarriage faced by his wife, Penny Jiang.

The couple has always been vocal about wanting children and speculations about Penny’s possible miscarriage arose due to its song title and lyrics. Many speculated that ‘Mars’ was a child’s name and the lyrics, which go “Baby tell me what I have to do to keep you by my side” and “Please tell me why you are refusing to see me”, were reflective of something being lost.

In addition, David had also posted a message on Facebook which said that the song “was a gift from God”.

However, his record company has since stepped out and responded to the situation.

“After speaking with David himself, he clarified that he was not talking about any particular issue in the song. The lyrics are meant to encourage fans and listeners with the same mentality, and to give them motivation to move forward and not give up in chasing their dreams,” the singer’s company said.

David and Penny have been married for three years since 2014.
