Dee Hsu expresses apprehension over daughter’s showbiz dream

Taiwanese actress-host Dee Hsu has always been known and loved for her quick wit and headstrong personality, becoming a household name with her hosting gigs.

Recently, the 40-year-old shared that her eldest daughter, 13-year-old Elly, once revealed that she wishes to follow in Dee's footsteps, and enter the entertainment industry as an actress. However, it seems that Dee has mixed feelings with regards to Elly’s showbiz bid.

While she “pretended to support” Elly’s choice on the surface, Dee revealed that deep down, she does not wish for Elly to become a celebrity. The mother-of-three wrote that she worries that Elly will not make it big. And even if she does become popular, she’s afraid that Elly might not be able to handle the stress and pressure that comes with being in the public eye.

Dee added that she will not be pushing or searching for roles for Elly, unless a director comes forward to offer her daughter a role on their own accord.
