Netizens think Faye Wong’s daughter is growing up to be as beautiful as her famous mum

Faye Wong’s 13-year-old daughter, Li Yan, has been the focus of much media attention. The teen started attending the Collège Alpin Beau Soleil, one of the oldest boarding schools in Switzerland, earlier this year. The institution is also believed to be one of the most expensive schools in the world.

After enrolling in the school, Li Yan was under fire for visiting a nightclub, which she later clarified to be a charity party organised by her school instead.

Although she has since turned her Instagram private, she still has over 14,000 followers, making her every update on the social media platform an instant talking point among netizens.

Yesterday (Dec 12), the posted a photo on Instagram Stories to mark the end of her first term in school. Clad in an all-black ensemble, the photo quickly started circulating on Weibo.

Netizens were quick to lavish praise on Li Yan, remarking that she is quickly blossoming to become as beautiful as her famous mum.

“I can see Faye Wong in her. Look at that aura she’s exuding by just standing there,” one netizen wrote. Another added, “This is why they say that genes will never lie.”

Others wondered about the timing of her latest update, as reports published earlier in the day alleged that her father, Chinese actor Li Yapeng, has broken up with his girlfriend Susie after being spotted with a long-haired lady.

Although Yapeng has yet to respond to the reports at press time, some were bewildered by the news as there was speculation of him expecting a child with Susie just last month.

Faye and Yapeng tied the knot in 2005 and divorced eight years later. They have one daughter, Li Yan, together.
