Hong Kong model-actress Gaile Lok announced the birth of her first child, a baby boy, last Sunday (April 28).

The 38-year-old tied the knot with her businessman husband, Ian Chu in July 2017. She was previously married to Hong Kong singer-actor Leon Lai for four years. In October last year, Gaile revealed that she was expecting a baby boy. In the lead-up to his birth, Gaile often shared updates about her life as a expectant mother, posting pictures and updates.

On Sunday, she announced that she had given birth on her Instagram, uploading a picture of her holding her son. In her caption, Gaile also thanked the doctors and nurses for their care, as well as everyone who had sent her well-wishes. The model-actress also added that she will be turning her focus to her new family, and will not be updating her social media for the time being.

“I cannot imagine a life without you. Your little hands stole my heart and your little feet walked away with it. You are the best thing that ever happened in my life. I love you baby Hunter E. Chu and can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you."

"Thank you to all the wonderful nurses and doctors for taking care of us this past week and also to those who are and have been sending us love and warms wishes! Especially all the moms on Instagram who have been so supportive through my pregnancy journey, but my journey isn’t over yet and is just about to start another chapter,” she wrote in her caption.

Elaborating on her reason to stay away from social media for the time being, Gaile continued, "A time to only bond and connect with my baby and family. So I won’t be updating my IG (Instagram) for awhile as this is the time to tune off, not to be disturbed and enjoying every moment of this stage! Confinement month here I come and see you all when I can (sic)."
