The last few months have been trying for Chinese actress Xuan Dong, after her husband, Chinese actor Gao Yunxiang (also known as Gavin Gao), was accused of sexually assaulting a female production crew member at a Shangri-La hotel in Australia.

Since then, the 35-year-old has relocated to Australia, together with the couple’s 1-year-old baby daughter, in a show of support for her husband. The move was said to have positively impacted the court’s decision to grant Yunxiang bail, as it served to show that the actor had no plans of jumping bail.

Recently, the actress made an appearance at a promotional event in Beijing, where she looked less radiant than usual.

However, what got tongues wagging was the fact that the actress’ wedding ring was conspicuously missing from her ring finger, which gave rise to rumours that she is going through a rough patch in her marriage.

Local media reported that Yunxiang’s semen was found at the scene of the alleged sexual assault, and that CCTV recordings have shown that the actor had entered the hotel room for 36 minutes on the night of the alleged crime.

Yunxiang was in Sydney filming a TV series called Love in Aranya when he and Chinese producer Wang Jing were accused of sexual assault against a female production crew member at the Shangri-La hotel after the wrap party.

After being initially detained and denied bail, the 35-year-old was released on bail late last month and is currently residing in Australia with his wife, Chinese actress Xuan Dong and their 2-year-old daughter.
