Is that a baby bump on Lin Chi-ling?

Lin Chi-ling’s dedication to giving back to society is no secret, as the model-actress has been known to be quietly donating money to various charitable causes since 2016, and even established her own foundation, the ‘Chiling Charity Foundation’, back in 2011. Among the many causes that the Chiling Charity Foundation have championed is having 10 ‘Chi-ling Jie Jie (older sister) Homes for the Children’, with each housing between two to three hundred kids, whom she visits often.

Her heart of gold has not gone unnoticed, as the China Charity Ranking 2018 awarded her with the ‘Most Influential Celebrity Philanthropist Award’ in April. On December 19, she was once again celebrated for her dedication to doing good at the 2018 Compassion Award, which was held in Hong Kong.

Apart from a trophy, she was also awarded US$130,000 (S$178,000) for her generosity. Speaking to the media after the ceremony, she shared, “This is a very special award and it’s cemented my resolution to continue doing charity work. I still have a long way to go, as I’ll be doing this for the rest of my life!”

Chi-ling admitted, “When I first set up the foundation seven years ago, I did feel lost, but after that, I found my direction and winning this award today is because of the firm belief I have (to keep doing what I’ve been doing).” She added that she will be donating the entire sum of her prize money to organisations that aid with children’s education and medical needs.

However, the attention also turned to what looked like a baby bump showing through her form-fitting dress, which led to a fierce online debate of whether it was a bun in the oven or a ‘food baby’ resulting from over-indulging in food prior to attending the event.

The 44-year-old was also asked about her plans to settle down, to which she responded to with a chuckle, “You guys are more eager than I am (for me to settle down). I know everyone is very concerned about me, and from now on, I’ll be more concerned about myself as well. As of right now, I don’t have a partner and I know that I need to make more time for myself.”
