Ivy Chen angers NBA fans with LeBron James comment
Fans of the Cleveland Cavaliers are demanding an apology from the actress
Taiwanese actress Ivy Chen, who’s a die-hard fan of the basketball team, the Golden State Warriors, has recently come under fire for her careless remarks after watching the final match of this year’s season.
Nicknamed “Strong Honey” for her love of the Golden State Warriors as well as her sweet appearance, Ivy flew to San Francisco, America to catch this year’s finals, with the Golden State Warriors facing off against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Once the final match ended, with the Golden State Warriors emerging victorious, Ivy immediately took to her social media to congratulate her favourite team on their win.
“Congratulations Warriors for winning all their games to become the champions! Thank you, the Pacers, Raptors and the Celtics for making LeBron [James from Cleveland Cavaliers] so tired during the first three games, he almost “died””, she wrote.
Even though the 35-year-old had already emphasised that LeBron “is legendary for playing against 12 opponents alone”, disgruntled fans of the Cleveland Cavaliers kicked up a fuss online, demanding that she apologise to their team for her remarks.
Although Ivy has since deleted her congratulatory post, netizens are still spreading screenshots of it online. Some other fans however, have come to the actress’s defence, writing that the actress, who has always been blunt and straightforward with her words, was simply supporting her own team.
