Ivy Chen is four months pregnant

Taiwanese actress Ivy Chen has hit fans with a double whammy, after announcing that she’s currently four months pregnant, and intending to register her marriage to her Taiwanese director boyfriend, Hsu Fu Hsiang, tomorrow (August 17).

Ivy’s relationship with the director of the hit drama, The Way We Were, Hsu Fu Hsiang, was revealed to the public in July last year. The couple were rumoured to be cohabitating in December that year, after paparazzi caught the lovebirds exiting and entering Ivy’s apartment together, with Fu Hsiang possessing what looked to be a set of keys to the actress’ apartment.

Yesterday, a media outlet reported that the reason for Ivy’s recent retreat from the spotlight was due to the 35-year-old’s pregnancy, which was later confirmed by Ivy on her Weibo.

“Ah, [we] had planned to tell you guys tomorrow, on Chinese Valentine’s Day, after everything was done and settled, but our plans were thwarted. It kind of feels like someone else has ripped open the present that was meant for me,” she wrote, before adding on, “Luckily, the present itself still belongs to me.”

Ivy also confirmed her upcoming nuptials, writing, “Yes, the next stage of my life, will begin just like this. Thank you for all your blessings, we’re very happy together.”

The actress also shared a short video clip, containing a hand-drawn illustration of the hands of their family-of-three, along with the couple’s official seals. Ivy shared that she has declined most of her upcoming work engagements and projects, and that she will focus on her pregnancy from now on.

Ivy’s celebrity friends and colleagues also congratulated the actress after hearing the good news.

Taiwanese actor Xiu Jie Kai said,”If it’s true, then of course, I’ll extend my heartiest congratulations. We’ve both been busy filming for the past few months, and haven’t had the chance to catch up.” Taiwanese actress Ruby Lin also said, “[It’s a] good thing, I congratulate them.”
