Jay Chou and Hannah Quinlivan welcome baby girl

After keeping the baby’s gender a secret for many months and purchasing all-black baby products to keep it ambiguous, Taiwanese megastar couple Jay Chou and Hannah Quinlivan welcomed their baby girl last Friday (July 10), as confirmed by Jay’s family and friends.

The news was shared on the Internet yesterday, reporting that Jay spoke through his representative in a brief phone interview, “We have a daughter now; Hannah and I are very happy.”

Jay has refused to answer any questions about his baby, especially about his baby’s actual birth date and time as he wishes to “protect his family”. However, his relatives have revealed to the media that his baby has beautiful eyes with long, voluminous lashes.

Hannah gave birth to her preterm baby via C-section and is currently in the confinement center recuperating.

Jay previously revealed that he wishes to name his children “Jay Junior” with the same Mandarin name as him (Zhou Jie Lun), but Hannah disapproves of it.

Although they have yet to confirm the official name of their new baby girl and post photos revealing the newborn’s face on social media, Hannah’s friends revealed that when she had briefly set her profile picture as a photo of a baby with sweeping lashes on June 30 (now removed), she told them, “I hope my baby will have long eyelashes too.”

The loving couple, 14 years apart, held three wedding ceremonies starting in January and announced the news of Hannah’s pregnancy three months later.
