Taiwanese singer Jimmy Lin and his wife, model Kelly Chen welcomed their first child, Kimi, in 2009 and subsequently, twins in 2015. During an event he attended on Aug 15, he opened up about the lives of his family of five.
Following the birth of his twins, the 42-year-old said he was already mentally prepared for his children to be a handful but thankfully, he has help by his side. This would be in the form of his 8-year–old son Kimi, who became a household name after appearing on the first season of hit Chinese reality show Where Are We Going, Dad?, together with his dad.
8-year-old Kimi, who has always been known to be a good brother, has even already replaced Jimmy as the twins’ storyteller. Kimi not only has fun with his brothers, but also acts as their mediator by placing himself in the middle when his brothers fight, practically over taking his father’s duties, said Jimmy.
At the event, Jimmy admitted that he still wants a daughter and even gotten his wife’s agreement, but for now, the parents are letting nature take its course.
Jimmy also shared his plans for the upcoming Chinese Valentine’s day taking place on Aug 28 and said that the family has plans to travel overseas and catch the sunset while having a barbeque by the beach.
The couple tied the knot in 2012 in Phuket despite initially planning a wedding after Kimi’s birth. This was because Kelly’s father passed away in 2009 and the couple had to follow the Chinese tradition of mourning for three years before getting married.
