JJ Lin X Jay Chou collaboration a dream come true for ‘90s kids

ONE NIGHT ONLY: Two of Mandopop’s most talented musicians, JJ Lin and Jay Chou, teamed up for a rare performance yesterday, at an event celebrating Suncity Group’s 10th anniversary.Before the duo took the stage, fans were serenaded by singers such as Coco Lee, Stefanie Sun and Karen Mok.When Jay finally appeared on stage as the final act, the singer told fans he was feeling under the weather but continued performing anyway. During his final song performance of ‘What Kind of Man’, he asked that they sing along, saying, “I’m down with a cold and I discovered that this song is quite suitable [for it].”Halfway through the ballad, JJ appeared on the platform via a concealed entrance in the stage below. The Singaporean singer walked towards Jay, who was playing the piano, before the two of them blew fans away with their flawless duet.

JJ’s signature high notes “perfectly complemented” Jay’s vocals and this collaboration, in the words of fans, are what ‘90s kids dreams are made of.
