Joe Chen and her 7Flowers members gather for a meal

After her drink-driving incident earlier this year, Taiwanese actress Joe Chen has laid low, rarely appearing in the public’s eye.

Yesterday night, however, the actress got together with some of her 7Flowers members, as well as some of their Jungiery Star Office co-workers for a meal, with Taiwanese actress Doris Lai posting pictures of the gathering on a fanpage.

“A gathering of old friends,” Doris wrote. “When there’s true friendship and emotions involved, the atmosphere is really different. Once the conversation started, we never stopped talking, even after three hours.” Taiwanese actor and member of former boyband 183 Club Sam Wang then commented, “[Our] old comrades, who we always miss even after meeting.”

During the meal, the group also poked fun at Joe’s drink-driving incident, asking her to “drink a little”, with Joe refusing. True to her words, the 38-year-old did not touch a drop of alcohol during the meal, and called a taxi to drive her home after that.

Joyce Chao, Joe Chen, Jade Chu, Doris Lai, Finn Chiu, Zai Zai and Margaret Wang, who were part of 7Flowers, were once one of the biggest groups under Jungiery Star Office, managed by Sun Derong. However, Finn Chui, Zai Zai and Margaret Wang later dropped out of the group, leaving Joyce Chao, Joe Chen, Jade Chu and Doris Lai in the group.
