Jolin Tsai takes criticisms in stride

The singer saw negative comments about her singing as points for improvement

Jolin Tsai takes criticisms in stride

Following criticisms of Taiwanese singer Jolin Tsai singing her song, ‘Sweet as Honey’ off-key at the 54th Golden Horse Awards last month, the singer has taken these comments as a learning point and expressed that she would like to “find another occasion to sing the song again.”

Jolin admitted that she made the mistake because she was too nervous, which messed up her breathing for the song, at a press conference yesterday. However, she said that she would not get discouraged and would improve on this instead.

“I feel like I have to re-sing it, and it is not because I want to prove a point. I feel that I need more practice so I might even consider singing the dance version (which is more difficult) next time,” the singer shared.

She also said that while she would not mind going back on stage for the Golden Horse Awards, she might have to wait for her new album to be released in order for her to perform again.

When asked if the 36-year-old singer had plans to celebrate the New Year, Jolin revealed that she only had a performance scheduled in China on Dec 30 and has nothing planned for New Years’s Eve at the moment.

She also said that she was not in a rush to enter a relationship, as she still had many places to explore and things to learn.

Jolin was previously in a six-year relationship with Vivian Dawson, but the pair split last July.
