The last time the public had a glimpse of Lin Ching-hsia’s (or Brigitte Lin) daughters – it was in 2014 when the screen maven celebrated her 60th birthday with a star-studded bash.

The former actress retired from showbiz after marrying billionaire Michael Ying and kept a low-profile after marriage to focus on raising her three daughters (she has two daughters with Michael, Eileen Ying and Melani Ying, and a step-daughter from Michael’s first marriage, Claudine Ying).

While she gradually returned to the limelight with book launches, selected event appearances, as well as a stint on Hunan variety series Up Idol in 2015, Ching-hsia was seldom seem out in public with her family.

A few days ago, the 63-year-old was spotted shopping with her youngest daughter Melani, 17, at a luggage store. Both mother and daughter were accompanied by a bodyguard during their shopping trip.

The former actress was dressed casually in a white long shirt and jeans, and wore a black cap, while her daughter wore a red top, shorts and sneakers. Melani was said to take after her father and has his nose and mouth.

Ching-hsia became a grandmother in 2016 when her step-daughter Claudine gave birth to a baby with her Australian banker boyfriend.
