Hong Kong-Canadian actress Linda Chung
married her husband, chiropractor Jeremy Leung, in February 2016, and gave birth to her first child, 2-year-old Kelly Leung, in August the same year.

The 33-year-old actress recently made the news when she was rumoured to be pregnant with her second child after she halted all work activities in Hong Kong and returned to Canada.

According to Hong Kong media reports, Jeremy was the one who first revealed the news, as he could not contain his excitement and told their neighbours, even before the first three months of her pregnancy (according to Chinese tradition, pregnancy news should be kept under wraps until after the first three months, to ensure a smooth delivery). The word spread in Vancouver where the family of three lives, before Hong Kong media caught wind of it yesterday (Mar 1).

When the media asked Linda’s good friend, Hong Kong actress Christine Kuo, if she knew about the pregnancy, she said, “Let’s wait from a reply from Linda! If the news is really true, I will congratulate her as a good friend. The most important thing is to live happily every day.”

Hong Kong actresses Eliza Sam and Grace Wong, both close friends of Linda, also congratulated the actress on her pregnancy, and asked the media to direct all their questions to the expectant mother.

When news of the pregnancy broke out, Hong Kong actor Roger Kwok shared a memory from his Chinese New Year performance in Toronto with Linda, where the actress appeared to have shown signs of pregnancy.

“I’m not sure if she was pregnant at that time, but when we were halfway through our song, she requested to complete the rest of the song sitting down, instead of standing up like we did before,” the actor shared.

Linda has since confirmed the news on Instagram this afternoon, in a post where she thanked TVB (Hong Kong broadcasting company that she was contracted to) staff for their continued support for her since she started acting at age 19. She revealed that she had recently completed her contract with the company, and will return to acting after giving birth.
