Luhan, Guan Xiao Tong deny marriage rumours
The pair went public with their relationship last October
Chinese singer-actor Luhan went public with his drama co-star, Guan Xiao Tong, last October. He surprised many with his Weibo post, which wrote, “Hello everyone, I’m introducing my girlfriend to everyone" and tagged Xiao Tong’s Weibo account as well.
The pair starred in Sweet Combat together, which initially raised suspicions that they were trying to drum up publicity for the series. Numerous rumours, including speculation that she was pregnant, along with talk of the couple breaking up, circulated the internet in the few short months since they’ve gone public.
However, the pair is proving naysayers wrong and still going strong. In fact, there are rumours that they will be announcing their marriage tomorrow (January 4).
A screenshot of a manuscript allegedly originating from Luhan’s personal work studio wrote that the pair has been preparing to tie the knot and will register their marriage on Friday. This led to much discussion over the situation, as some wondered if it was too early in their careers and lives to do so. Luhan turns 29 this year, while Xiao Tong will turn 22 in September.
In response, both his and her work studios swiftly rubbished the rumours, with Luhan’s work studio first issuing a statement. “The news of Luhan’s marriage and the alleged manuscript from Luhan’s work studio are fake. We’re thankful for the concern that has been shown towards Luhan, but we have not issued any articles nor statements and we hope that everyone can stop sharing (false) information. At the same time, we welcome one and all to pay more attention to Luhan’s work. Happy New Year.”
Meanwhile, Xiao Tong’s agency merely issued a brief, “It’s fake”, before maintaining their silence on the matter.
