When it comes to tying the knot with her boyfriend, Hong Kong actor Nicholas Tse, Hong Kong singer Faye Wong has found the most unlikely of allies in her beau’s family.
Recent reports have alleged that Nicholas has proposed multiple times to Faye, only to be rejected by the 47-year-old, who is wary of marriage after her previous two relationships ended with a divorce. Undeterred, Nicholas turned to his family for their support. However, much to his dismay, they were against him tying the knot for the second time as well.
It was also reported that Nicholas’s father, Hong Kong actor Patrick Tse is particularly resistant towards the idea of a second marriage.
The 80-year-old is said to dote on his two grandsons, Lucas and Quintus Tse, from Nicholas’s first marriage to Hong Kong actress Cecilia Cheung. She also makes sure to send presents on Patrick’s birthday, and often brings her sons along when she visits Patrick. Thus, he does not want Nicholas to marry again, as he fears that it will ruin Lucas and Quintus’s image of their father, and affect their relationship.
Nicholas married Cecilia in 2006. Ever since their high-profile divorce in 2011, Cecilia has raised Lucas and Quintus singlehandedly. The family of three also moved to Singapore for a period of time to allow Lucas and Quintus to grow up in a more conducive environment before moving back to Hong Kong last year.
In 2014, Nicholas reunited with Faye, whom he used to date.
