Shawn Yue hopes to have more children

Hong Kong actor Shawn Yue welcomed his son Cody in May this year, and has since immersed himself in the joys of being a father. He has been on a hiatus since his son’s birth, choosing to stay at home to share the burden of parenting with his wife, Sarah Wang.

Making a rare appearance at a brand event recently, Shawn explained that he had agreed to attend about half a year ago, and is still not accepting any new job offers in the meantime. He mused that he would likely be continuing to stay at home for the next month or so, and that he will only go back to work after he holds a 100th day bash for Cody.

Shawn was asked if the monetary loss from his decision has caused his bank account to suffer, to which the new father said that money is not as important and that he just wants to spend more time with his child.

Speaking about his journey as a father so far, Shawn let on that he and his wife are looking after Cody personally - he’s in charge of feeding and burping him, while she’s in charge of changing his diapers.

He admitted, “It’s really very tiring because we have to feed him once every three hours. I take the night shift while she takes the morning shift.”

Although parenting hasn’t been a walk in the park, Shawn shared his hope that he will have “one or two” more children. He explained that his wife is an only child and didn’t have many friends while growing up, which makes the couple want to have more children so that they can keep each other company.

However, he continued that he will let nature take its course, and it “will all depend on my ability!”
