Vivian Hsu remembers late father
The Taiwanese singer is taking time off to settle her late father’s funeral matters, after he passed away on New Year’s Day
Taiwanese singer Vivian Hsu’s father passed away from a virus infection on New Year’s Day, at the age of 64. The singer, who relocated to Singapore in 2014, has since taken time off from work and is staying in Taiwan to settle her late father’s funeral matters.
On January 20, the 42-year-old singer posted a photo of her late father on Facebook, sharing that she is currently sorting out his possessions. She shared that she is “strong” and will “take care of herself”, and asked her father to leave in peace without worrying for her.
In the photo, Vivian’s father could be seen smiling radiantly while dressed in a suit and bowler hat, attending a party held 4 years ago when Vivian returned to Taiwan after getting married.
“Thank you for being my father. It’s been tough on you. Now rest in peace, I love you forever,” the singer wrote.
Vivian previously shared that her son, Dalton, also loves and misses his grandfather dearly. The 2-year-old had expressed his love by saying “I love grandfather” and even dreamt about his grandfather, saying that “grandfather is in heaven”.
The singer also posted an emotional letter on Facebook earlier this month, four days after her father’s death.
Upon seeing her emotional words, netizens left supportive messages for the star, asking her to “take care of herself” and to “stay strong” so that her father will not worry.
The 42-year-old singer’s father immune system has been weak ever since his liver surgery back in 2009, and he passed away in the National Taiwan University Hospital after his body could not recover from a virus infection.
