Mandopop singer-songwriter Wakin Chau will be releasing a new album, The Younger Me, next month, and has started promoting it in a very special way.

Photos of him with his 29-year-old son, Andrew, were released as part of the album’s pre-release promotions, and quickly gained traction online. Despite his dreams of making it big in showbiz, Andrew, who is a budding actor, has previously made clear that does not want to enlist his father’s help, and hopes to make it on his own.

That being said, he clearly doesn’t mind teaming up with his father every once in a while.

Wakin later explained in an interview, “I’ve only heard of bridal photoshoots, but not father-son spreads! I’m very happy with the final product. I once wrote the song ‘My Dearest Baby’ for Andrew. I never expected that we’d be able to participate in a photoshoot together 30 years later! I believe that my wife will be very happy to see these photos too.” Wakin and his American wife Constance Woods married in 1986 and have two children, Andrew, along with Anya, 25.

While his daughter has largely shied away from the spotlight, Andrew has previously shared that he hopes to follow in his famous father’s footsteps one day.

The budding actor, who has been dubbed “Orlando Bloom of Taiwan”, has appeared in several TV shows and most recently participated in the historical drama Lady the Butterfly, which also stars Golden Bell-winning actress Wen Chen-ling and French actor Fabio Grangeon.
