Was Fan Bingbing “snubbed” by LV in China?

Chinese actress Fan Bingbing hasn’t had the best year.

Rumours of her being barred from leaving the country arose after her no-show in France to film her upcoming Hollywood flick355, and soon after, she fell off the Forbes China Celebrity 100 list after topping the charts for five years running.

Now, it seems like there’s more trouble brewing for the 38-year-old as netizens claim that luxury brand Louis Vuitton (LV) has snubbed her in China.

Bingbing, who is understood to be the brand’s ambassador, had photos of her decked out in the brand’s items uploaded onto LV's Twitter, Instagram, and Weibo accounts, among other platforms, on September 27. However, the post which featured her was silently taken down on Weibo, with no explanation given by the brand.

Days after, a person reported to be her manager updated her personal Weibo with the same photos. They were captioned with, “If something belongs to you, it will never change. #LouisVuitton #FanBingBingLouisVuittonGlobalSpokesperson Eternal friendship, eternal companionship.”

The vague caption raised questions of why the brand deleted the post on Weibo, and many netizens commented that the brand “shouldn’t have uploaded it in the first place if they were going to delete it anyway”.

“It’s super awkward since there are people who have seen the post, and they’re pretending that nothing happened,” another added.

Other celebs such as actor Dylan Wang, actress-model Dilraba Dilmurat, model Ming Xi, and singer Wu Yifan (also known as Kris Wu) are among those featured on LV’s Weibo page.
