Will Liu faces a financial crisis

The Taiwanese singer’s house was seized by banks when he could not pay his loans

Will Liu faces a financial crisis

Best known for his appearance on the fifth season of hit Chinese reality show Where Are We Going, Dad? with 4-year-old daughter Liu Yu Fu (aka as Xiao Pao Fu or Little Puff), Taiwanese singer Will Liu was revealed to be facing a financial crisis two days ago (Jan 23).

According to Taiwan media reports, Will spent NT$9 million (approximately S$406,080) on a 15-year-old building in Shenkeng District, Taipei, several years ago. On top of that, he also spent another NT$2 million (approximately S$90,260) refurbishing it.

At that time, he took loans from Bank SinoPac worth up to NT$8 million (approximately S$361,040) to fund the investment, and shared in an interview that he was confident the price of the house will rise over the next few years.

The 45-year-old singer also reportedly took a second loan worth over NT$4 million (approximately S$180,520) from Hua Nan Bank in September last year, and an additional third loan from other creditors.

As interest rates are high on loans, netizens speculated that he must be facing serious financial difficulties to obtain so many.

Alas, the house was seized by banks last November, when he failed to repay his loans to his creditors.

Will’s total loans from the two banks were approximated to amount to over NT$14 million (approximately S$631,450).

Will and his family remain uncontactable on this issue, and is revealed by his manager to be in China for the time being.
