Taiwanese actress Alyssa Chia received her first Golden Bell Award on October 5, marking a major career milestone. Since then, industry watchers have been carefully watching her next move, as many believe that her next project could help propel her career to new heights.

Instead of a long-term project such as a movie or drama, however, Alyssa decided to shoot the music video for singer Kenji Wu’s newly released song, ‘I’m Fine’. While speaking to Taiwanese media about her experience filming the music video, she also let on more about her career highs and lows.

“It was pretty tough for me 10 years ago. I would consider it the lowest point of my life, but if I could give a piece of advice to the Alyssa Chia from 10 years ago, I would tell myself, ‘The choices that you made are right, and you are stronger than you think’,” she said.

After the many ups and downs in her life, Alyssa shared that she now appreciates the little things in life, and that happenings such as her father’s passing and her divorce from Chinese businessman Sun Zhihao in 2010 have become reminders that there is nothing that she cannot overcome if she puts her mind to it.

She also revealed that she has a different perception of love from her husband, Xiu Jie Kai, as she confessed that he thinks that she “loves our kids too much. I continuously give them love, even when they don’t need it”. She explained, “Loving them is a good thing, but it's important to know the difference between loving someone and pandering to them so much that you give in to them all the time.”

She has a 14-year-old daughter, Angelina, from her previous marriage, and another two girls, 3-year-old Bubu and 2-year-old Bobo, with Jie Kai.
