Celeb babies due to be “boar-n” in the Year of the Pig

The Year of the Pig has officially begun, and with little ones on the way, this Lunar New Year is sure to feel extra special for the following 10 celebrity couples who will be welcoming new members into their families in 2019...

Due date: February 2019
Gender: Boy

After all that they’ve been through (including a cheating scandal and a tragic miscarriage), it’s nice to see that the couple could still get back on the path to happily ever after with the impending arrival of their first child, a son nicknamed “BonBon”.

While Penny was originally said to be due in March, updated reports state that “BonBon” could be saying bonjour as early as this month. The fact that the parents-to-be have already held a baby shower also lends weight to the accuracy of the claims.

Due date: Mid-2019 (or February 2019?)
Gender: Boy

It looks like Kevin and Grace wasted no time in making efforts to expand their brood after their Bali nuptials. Just three months after they exchanged vows, the happy couple chose Thanksgiving (Nov 22) to share the happy news with everyone on Instagram (with a very sweet and happy photo of the two of them).

About two weeks ago, Grace posted several photos from her baby shower, which provided a hint to her unborn son’s name, “Baby R”. Some media outlets also took the early celebration as a sign that the actress, who was initially believed to be about five months along, may pop as early as this month. Guess we’ll have to wait and find out.

Due date: March 2019
Gender: Boy

There is no such thing,” claimed Zanilia’s agency when she was first said to have a bun in the oven, a rumour that was sparked when she embarked on a three-month hiatus in July last year. Despite the denial, the speculations refused to die down, and the actress was even suspected to be carrying twins at one point.

Finally, both the 31-year-old and her actor husband took to their respective social media accounts in early January to confirm that yes, they are expecting a baby boy. Those internet sleuths who supposedly managed to spot pregnancy signs in a Weibo post of hers must be feeling really proud of themselves.

Due date: April 2019
Gender: Unknown

When Eliza attended an event in early December last year, she claimed that she and her husband were still trying for their first child… only to make the announcement that the bun had already been cooking in the oven for five months just a few days later (sigh, you can’t trust any of these people nowadays).

According to Eliza, becoming a mama-to-be has granted her a sudden burst of courage in the face of terrifying creatures. “I usually scream when I see a cockroach, but these days, I will scream and then kill it, because I want my baby to grow up in a clean environment,” she shared at a recent public appearance. We knew it: mothers have superpowers.

Due date: April or May 2019
Gender: Unknown

Ruco and Phoebe are definitely contenders for some “most creative baby announcement” award with their Scrabble letter tiles and wedding rings post. The good news was shared in November last year, barely a month after they tied the knot.

Like almost everyone else on this list, the couple previously denied reports they were expecting at first. However, Ruco specifically explained that they did so because the older members of their family wanted to adhere to the belief that one should not announce their pregnancy before the first trimester is over.

Due date: April or May 2019
Gender: Boy

Leon who? Gaile has been basking in marital bliss with her businessman hubby since August 2017 and is set to step into motherhood when they welcome their first child, a son she nicknamed “Tinky Winky”, in just a few months’ time.

The model announced the good news on Instagram with a T-shirt saying “baby coming soon!” in November last year. Since then, she has been filling her feed with lots of photos of her performing yoga poses with her increasingly swelling belly on proud display, being the true definition of a #fitspomum.

Due date: May 2019
Gender: Boy

The reel-to-real life Scarlet Heart lovers will welcome a little prince of their own into the family in the middle of the year, news that they personally confirmed on their respective Weibo accounts in December. While earlier reports speculated that the actress was carrying twins, that turned out to be untrue (how cute would that have been, though?).

Since then, the already-private couple has been laying even lower. They were recently spotted visiting a temple in Taiwan, presumably to pray for the health of Cecilia and their unborn child.

Due date: May 2019
Gender: Unknown

Jung Hoon made his “we’re expecting again!” revelation in style: during his acceptance speech after picking up a Top Excellence Award at the MBC Drama Awards in December last year. “We will be welcoming a new addition to the family,” he announced. “I hope that our baby is born healthy and strong and that we’ll live happily together.”

The Korean actors are already parents to a daughter, Jae Hee, who turns three in April. Ga In’s first pregnancy in 2014 sadly ended in a miscarriage. Hwaiting for this one!

Due date: June 2019
Gender: Unknown

Poor Aaron must have gotten tired of constantly giving cryptic answers regarding his wife’s suspected pregnancy (we would have if we were him). Every time he was hounded about the issue, he would only say things like “I can’t share too much for now” or “I’m still waiting for the right time to answer this question”.

At long last, his answer evolved into “We will welcome a new member into our family next year” during a photo shoot back in December. He also shared that his one-year-old daughter Chantelle has been doing adorable things like kissing her mama’s growing belly, hinting at her anticipation for a new sibling.

Due date: Unknown

Brendan is going to be a big brother, and it looks like he might know it, judging from the adorable picture of him poking his mummy’s belly.

Myolie announced the good news just last week (after months of speculation and denial a.k.a. the usual pattern with celebrity mothers-to-be) with an ultrasound photo of her and Philip’s second child, joking that the Pig baby completes the “Lee farm” (she’s born in the year of the Sheep, her husband was born in the year of the Ox, and Brendan is a Rooster baby).
