Zed Lee celebrated his fifth birthday getting VIP treatment at S.E.A. Aquarium

It’s only natural for parents to wish to give their precious children nothing but the best, and our favourite celebrity mums and dads aren’t exempted from this ‘rule’!

While Fann Wong and Christopher Lee’s son Zed’s actual birthday is on August 9 (yes, he’s a National Day baby), the little lad celebrated turning five in advance last Wednesday (Aug 7) with a party and VIP tour at S.E.A. Aquarium.

According to the website, guests on the VIP tour are entitled to access to the back-of-house areas of Dolphin Island and the S.E.A. Aquarium, which means Zed and his folks got to explore parts that are normally closed off to regular visitors and experience a range of exclusive activities. Not exactly your regular fifth birthday outing, isn’t it?

Fann’s caption on Instagram also states that Zed even got a gift and birthday song presented to him by one of the dolphins. Colour us green with envy.

To complete the underwater theme, local pâtisserie Baker’s Heart put together a lovely cake with “jellyfish” and other aquatic elements on it. Zed apparently liked it so much that he couldn’t take his hands off it (and we can’t say we blame him).

How do we know the birthday boy had a whale (heh) of a time? Before he went to bed that night, Fann reported that he told her that he’s “soo happy”. Awww…

Celebrity Kid: The couple’s only child, Marc
Show-stopper Item: The matchy-matchy party decor

Local actress-entreprenuer Cheryl Wee and her architect husband, Roy Fong, welcomed their little bundle of joy on April 26 this year, and held a 100th day anniversary party for him on July 26.

The party, which was held at the Grand Hyatt Singapore, and attended by close to 400 guests, saw a slew of local celebrities turning up to join in the festivities. From Zoe Tay and Zheng Geping and their respective families, to Cheryl’s Mata Mata co-star, Nadiah m Din, the bustling party was full of famous faces.

The party, which had a baby blue and white theme, had a customised backdrop with hot-air balloons and the words, “You’re our greatest adventure”. Cheryl shared in an interview that the decor matched with the wallpaper on little Marc’s room, which has hot-air balloons on it. Additionally, Marc was given the  Chinese name, Feng Jun Xiang, as Cheryl and Roy wanted him to be "a person who will soar high and be an explorer who’s curious to learn things”.

Celebrity Kid: The couple’s only child, Kyden
Show-stopper Item: The gorgeous decor and beautiful setting

July 21 was indeed a day to remember for Kim Lim and her family, with two parties in one, the 27-year-old’s birthday party, as well as the first birthday of her son, Kyden.

Held at the Fullerton Bay Hotel, with a view of the iconic Marina Bay Sands building, the party was attended by guests such as Pan Lingling, Rebecca Lim, and even Korean celebrity Jessica Jung. The hotel’s rooftop bar was fully transformed and decked out in pastel balloons, as well as blue and white streamers for Kyden’s birthday bash in the day. Life-sized teddy bear statues figured prominently as well - the birthday cake was a 3D grey bear cake, with bear macaroons and unicorn cupcakes served up at the dessert station.

There were loads of games for the little ones, and even a gift station for them to redeem their prizes after collecting enough stamps while playing the games. And to top it off, the party coincided with the National Day Parade rehearsals which meant that it was capped off with a spectacular fireworks show. How's that for a party?!

Celebrity Kid: The couple’s eldest daughter Bubu
Show-stopper Item: The imaginative gifts for their guests

The celebrity couple organised the wittily named, “Bubu is coming” party in September 2015, to simultaneously mark the baby girl’s full month anniversary as well as the first time her face was revealed to the public. To ensure that the apple of their eye will not be frightened by the sudden change in scenery, the dedicated parents decided to decorate the party venue in a style that was similar to their own living room at home. The one-of-a-kind decor also helped allow their guests feel as if they were part of the family.

Of course, the kids attending the party were not forgotten, with a special playground as well as  three different game rooms that allowed the children to either watch a movie, execute magic tricks, or play games. The couple also prepared a very unique table gift for their guests - blank photo paper for them to scribble or draw Bubu’s future.

For Bubu’s first birthday, the couple also made sure to keep things new and fresh, this time, with a special customised cake. The cake, which was made in the likeness of Bubu, was specially commissioned from fellow celebrity and cake maker extraordinaire, Jolin Tsai.

Celebrity Kid: The couple’s only child together, Dalton
Show-stopper Item: The family’s customised jerseys

The celebrations first kicked off with Dalton’s full month anniversary in September 2015 with Vivian and Sean sending out celebratory cake sets to their friends and loved ones. Enclosed together with the sweet treats was a little card with a picture of the family of five, all decked out in customised football jerseys with their names emblazoned on it.

Then, came Dalton’s first birthday party, which was zoo-themed. The entire party venue was decorated to look like a real zoo, with specially-printed decorations in the shape of lions, monkeys, and giraffes, just to name a few.

Like Bubu, his one-day-older friend, Dalton just celebrated his third birthday last week, too, with a small celebration at home and in school.

Celebrity Kid: The couple’s eldest child, Baby Qi
Show-stopper Item: The hand-packed party favours

While 100th day anniversaries are often celebrated in countries like Taiwan and Hong Kong, such celebrations and parties are rare here in sunny Singapore. However, local celebrity couple Qi Yuwu and Joanne Peh decided to buck the trend. The couple, who’ve always been fiercely protective of their children’s privacy, held a small and simple 100th day anniversary party for Baby Qi in early 2016, inviting only their family and close friends.

Yuwu later shared in an interview with the media that the couple had decided against a full month party as they felt that it was too weak. Additionally, Joanne still needed some extra time to rest and recuperate following the birth of Baby Qi.

In order to ensure that their guests left with nothing but fond memories of the party, the couple decided to personally handle every single aspect of it, from the decorations, to the party favours.

According to Joanne, as the couple wanted their guests to sample the best cakes and sweet treats, the couple decided to order from two different renowned bakeries. They then manually packed the different cakes and sweet treats into customised boxes for their guests to take home.

The fetching red one piece worn by Baby Qi at the party was also purchased in Japan, during the family-of-three’s first overseas vacation together, adding another layer of significance and sentimentality to the entire event.

Celebrity Kid: The couple’s only child together, Xing Xing
Show-stopper Item: The party’s A-lister guestlist

Wang Feng and Zhang Ziyi held a gorgeous 100th day anniversary party for the apple of their eye, their little daughter, Xing Xing on April 10 2016.

Attended by the who’s who of the Chinese entertainment industry, A-listers like Chinese actor Feng Xiaogang, Chinese singer Na Ying, Taiwanese actress Ruby Lin and  Canadian actress Christy Chung were spotted in attendance. The party was held at a posh, five-star hotel in Beijing, China.

The enormous guestlist of 300 people was comparable to that of a mid-range wedding, and it was estimated that the entire shindig cost the couple quite a pretty penny - at least TW$4 million (approximately S$169,000).

With a meaningful theme of “Awakened by Love”, the party venue was decked out in pastel pink, with a gorgeous fresh flower backdrop for photo-taking.

But, there was just one snag in the entire proceedings; the ice cream truck rented by the couple for the party had a small typo in it’s placard. Instead of “ice cream”, the placard read “iceream" instead, to the mirth of netizens.

Celebrity Kid: The couple’s firstborn, Sofia
Show-stopper Item: The unique and heartwarming presents the couple requested for

In 2015, Gigi and her Spaniard husband, Sergio, held their beloved daughter Sofia’s 100th day anniversary party in the Four Seasons Hotel, located in Hong Kong. With a guestlist numbering in the 200s, celebrity guests in attendance included Sofia’s two godmothers, Hong Kong actress Charlie Yeung and Taiwanese actress Vivian Hsu, as well as Taiwanese actress Sylvia Chang, Hong Kong model Cissy Wang, Hong Kong singer Real Ting, Hong Kong singer-actor Ronald Cheng and his wife, Hong Kong broadcast presenter Sammie Yu.

The party was singlehandedly planned by Gigi alone, who searched for the venue and co-ordinated all the activities as well. All in all, the couple spent HK$500,000 (approximately S$86,300) to transform the hotel’s ballroom into a mystical magic kingdom.

With brightly coloured balloons dotted around the room, as well as a live magic show and a bouncy castle and trampoline for the kids, Gigi made sure to include everyone in the day’s activities.

The couple also requested for all their guests to make a donation to charities and non-profit organisations in Nepal, instead of buying gifts for Sofia, spreading the joy to the less well-off as well.

Celebrity Kid: The couple’s only child, Jayden Max
Show-stopper Item: The scrumptious fusion food served at the party

Michelle Reis and her billionaire husband, Julian Hsu held a 100th day anniversary party for their son, Jayden Max at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong in 2011, inviting 23 tables worth of friends and family.

As Jayden enjoyed bath time, particularly the soap bubbles that came with it, Michelle decided on a theme of “Bubble Fairytale” for the special day, with pastel coloured balloons designed to look like bubbles stuck on the walls.

A special white rabbit mansion was also crafted as the centerpiece of the party, as Jayden was born in the year of the rabbit. According to reports, Michelle actually engaged the services of a renowned Japanese decorator for the party itself.

The food served was equally unique, with fusion cuisine and delicacies such as bird’s nest soup, foie gras and more served up to guests. Of course, such opulence does not come cheap, with the total cost for the party going up to RMB 5 million (approximately S$1 million), according to an insider.
