Taiwanese-American Mandopop singer Evonne Hsu gave birth to her first child, a daughter nicknamed “Baby E,” on October 6 and shared the good news on Facebook yesterday.
“Now I believe in love at first sight,” she wrote. “Baby E chose to be born on the night of our wedding anniversary, October 6, giving this date even more significance.”
“The doctors and nurses say she’s healthy and weighs a standard 7 lb 2 oz [approximately 3.23 kg]. Her skin is a healthy pink and she has a lot of hair.”
“Baby E” was delivered naturally. Evonne’s husband, Dennis, stayed by her side throughout the delivery, and her younger sister, Ivy, was connected by video chat.
Evonne, 38, announced her pregnancy in April. She married Dennis, a businessman four years her junior whose family deals in plastics, in Bali in 2013. His net worth is estimated to be more than NT$1 billion (approximately S$43 million).
