Taiwanese actor and singer Nicky Wu turned 45 on October 31, and about 50 ardent fans turned up at the arrival hall of Taipei Songshan Airport to welcome the star with a birthday song, banners and flowers.
Nicky arrived in Taipei on Monday night to attend events organised for watch brand Omega and the new Bond movie, Spectre.
The actor appeared stunned by the reception. After a rousing rendition of ‘Happy Birthday,’ his fans approached him to offer flowers and take pictures.
Nicky, who registered his marriage to Chinese actress Cecilia Liu in January, only smiled when asked why his wife wasn’t with him and when the couple planned to have children.
The actor celebrated his birthday with staff, who organised a party for him. The cake they prepared was decorated with three candles that read "576," a near-homophone of Nicky's Chinese name.
Cecilia was busy filming and was absent, but a photo of the couple's private birthday celebration, complete with their pet dogs, appeared online later that day.
The pair are said to be planning for a wedding held after Chinese New Year, but Nicky’s manager said no date has been set and that everything is still in the planning stages.
