Hong Kong actors Him Law, 31, and Tavia Yeung, 36, returned to Hong Kong yesterday after they married in secret in England last week.

Tavia waved to the media once the newlyweds cleared customs, and her 2-carat diamond ring was hard to miss.

The actress said Him had proposed this year and she had been moved to tears. The couple will be hosting a wedding banquet too, but an exact date hasn’t been fixed.

As for their secret marriage at Leeds Castle, Tavia explained it took place during a family trip planned to get their parents acquainted with one another. She and Him hadn’t let on that they intended to get married while traveling, so their families were kept in the dark.

Tavia said they took wedding photos in England and registered their marriage there. And on their choice of a castle as a photo backdrop, Him said he likes the classical, antique look, and he wanted Tavia to feel like a princess while getting married.

The couple denied they were expecting, and they said they weren’t in any hurry to have children. They are living together, and they will focus on acting projects after their marriage: Him will head to China to promote a new movie, and Tavia is in talks to star in a few Chinese television series.
