For the first time in 10 years, Singaporean singer-songwriter Stefanie Sun joined her good friend, A-Mei, on stage yesterday night to perform a series of duets at the latter’s Utopia World Tour concert held in promotion of her 15th album.
The two sang their famous classics – A-Mei’s ‘Brave’ and Stefanie’s ‘Unforgettable’, as well as an a capella version of ‘Happy Birthday’ as Stefanie sent kisses to her Dutch-Indonesian husband Nadim Van Der Ros, who gave a shy smile in return.
Even though Stefanie was down with a cough and cold, she carried on with the show and even made a speech to the then tearful A-Mei.
A-Mei has performed a total of ten concerts from the 4th to the 15th of April, breaking the record for most number of concerts held at Taipei Arena.
Since the two friends from Warner Music live very near to each other, Stefanie would pop by A-Mei’s house from time to time and give each other mutual support whenever she’s free. It is reported that they specially chose to sing ‘Brave’ and ‘Unforgettable’ at the concert to commemorate their strong friendship of many years.
