Chinese actress Tang Wei, 36, said she has planned to give birth in China when she’s due in August or September.
Despite being married to South Korean director Kim Tae-yong, 46, Tang Wei said she wouldn’t deliver her child in that country “because I don’t understand Korean,” she said.
At a recent public appearance, the actress wore kitten heels and took a small sip of wine after offering a toast.
She said she has gained 5 kg, but her baby bump was not obvious under her black dress and she showed no signs of water retention.
Tang Wei said she cannot sit still if she doesn’t work, so even though she’s 5 months pregnant and not taking acting roles, she makes appearances at events to keep herself busy.
The actress said the biggest change she’s undergone since she found out she was expecting was that she’s developed a liking for feminine clothes. “I used to prefer more masculine styles, and my husband would joke that I was a man,” she said. “But now I like to wear skirts.”
But she gave no definite reply when asked about her plans for more children or quitting acting to be a stay-at-home mother.
The gender of her child is not known: Tang Wei said she asked her doctor not to tell her.
She married Tae-yong in 2014 and confirmed her pregnancy in late February.
