The infamous ugly celebrity wax figures have appeared again in Sichuan province, China, and A-list victims include Jackie Chan, Taiwanese supermodel Lin Chi-ling, and Chinese actresses Fan Bingbing, Yang Mi and Angelababy.
After previous exhibitions in Huaying Mountain and Luzhou city, both in Sichuan, the wax figures were put on show in Deyang city to mark the opening of a leather goods store in Shifang, a smaller city 25 km away.
China’s Madame Tussaud gone wrong has gained a reputation for wax figures that are poorly made and look nothing like the celebrities they’re modelled after.
Netizens don’t have kind words for the exhibition: “I’ve seen ugly ones, but never this ugly, it’s so grotesque I can cry,” “Even with the celebs’ names stated, the figures still don’t look like them at all,” “Sichuan probably has an axe to grind with wax figures.”
