The organisers of Seoul Music Awards have released an official apology after Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon suffered from a fall while attending the annual awards show on January 22.
The 25-year-old performed with her sub-group, TTS (TaeTiSeo) and was making their way off-stage after the lights dimmed when she fell through a hydraulic hole. According to reports, she was rushed to the hospital after she hurt her lower back muscles from the fall. She is said to have been later discharged after she was injected with painkillers.
In its apology, the organisers explained, “The members were exiting the stage in a hurry after their performance of ‘Holler’ when the lift suddenly moved quickly, resulting in the accident. The stage is 1.8m high so the lift was set up for the singers. The communication between the staff didn’t go well so the lift moved 1m below from where it was meant to be.”
They extended their sincerest apologies for the accident and affirmed that they have contacted her label, SM Entertainment, with regards to the accident.
