Adele quit smoking because she feared she would die.
The 'Hello' hitmaker - who made her triumphant return to music this year - admits she gave up her vice over worries she would develop lung cancer.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "If I'd carried on smoking I'd probably have died from a smoking-related illness and I think that's really bad.
"If I was dying from lung cancer I would have potentially given it to myself and that wouldn't be something I'd be proud of."
The 27-year-old singer - who had been smoking 25 cigarettes a day before she quit - has been on a health kick as of late and recently revealed her key to losing weight - cutting out the sugars in her tea.
She said: "I used to drink 10 cups a day with two sugars in each so I was on 20 sugars a day. Now I don't drink it and I have more energy than ever."
And whilst she likes to keep healthy, she doesn't "enjoy" heading to the gym.
She shared: "I'm not, like, skipping to the f***ing gym. I don't enjoy it. I do like doing weights. I don't like looking in the mirror.
"Blood vessels burst on my face really easily, so I'm so conscious when I'm lifting weights not to let them burst in my face. And if I don't tour, you'll catch me back down at the Chinese!"
